It is a simple story of one man whose matter-of-fact teachings and unconditional love inspired thousands around the world to embark on an attempt to Serve Love and Give.

Disciple of Swami Shivananda of Rishikesh, His Holiness Swami Shanthanand Saraswathi, is the reason and rhyme behind Shivanjali and its multi faceted service-oriented organizations across the world.

Born in Thirukoviloor on April 7th 1934, Swamiji, as he is fondly called, is a Sadhu/Saint by temperament. Young and old were drawn to the brilliance of his knowledge, his affectionate disposition and his soul-stirring Sathsangs.

…sang the bard in a mellifluous voice that resonates the universal truth: “Follow any path, religion or doctrine, but believe in it sincerely, because the sincerity of your belief will illuminate and guide you to the ultimate common goal.” Swamiji attained Mahasamadhi on 27th July 2005 at Coimbatore, where his eternal presence is observed, and considered a center for prayer and meditation today.

First created in Kuala Lumpur in 1982, Swamiji created this wing to nurture and spread the performing arts. this organization seeks to be formative rather than informative. "Art, just for the love of it” is the guiding motto Swamiji creted for this wing. Soon branches oened in India, Singapore, Australia, Sri Lanka and other parts of Malaysia. A devoted band of teachers and a committed bunch of students ensured that this particular project of Swamiji's took off to a flying start.

TFA imparts classes in Dance (BharataNatyam, Odissi and Contemporary), Vocal(Carnatic and Hindusthani), Veena, Sitar, Guitar, Violin, Flute, Keyboard, Mridangam, and Tabla to hundreds of students in each of its centers across the globe.
